Our History

Seerys story began in 1989 with an idea and great products. Philo Seery was a keen baker, having previously worked as a Home Economic teacher for 15 years.

She started baking delicious cakes in the family kitchen for local coffee shops and friends, while at home looking after her 3 children.

Her husband, Oliver, had the business ‘know how’, having worked in the dairy distribution industry for many years.

Together, they realised they had some great products to offer the Irish bakery market.

Manufacturing started in the family kitchen but due to demand, the family garage was soon converted so the ‘car was moved out and an oven moved in.’

When the demand grew even greater the decision was made to build a factory close to the family home in Tinryland. This new custom built factory opened in 2000 and the rest they say is history.

Seerys is still very much a family run business. Philo is retired and now enjoys gardening and looking after her grandchildren. Oliver has handed the management reins to his son Brian but is still very much involved in the day to day at Seerys.

And so the story continues….

The personnel, building and scale of operation may have changed over the past 30 years but the ethos & values of the company remain the same as they were back in the family kitchen in 1989.
